Allstate Unit President To Retire At Year's End

NORTHBROOK, Ill. (AP) — Insurer The Allstate Corp. said Monday the president of its Allstate Protection unit, George E. Ruebenson, will retire effective Dec. 31.

Ruebenson, 61, has been with the company nearly four decades. He joined in 1970 and became president of Allstate Protection in 2007.

The company is seeking his successor.

Allstate Protection includes the property and casualty offerings of Allstate, as well as Encompass and Deerbrook Insurance, which are sold through Allstate and independent agencies, respectively.

Shares fell $1.19, or 3.8 percent, to $30.31. The stock has traded between $13.77 and $33.50 over the past 52 weeks.
